This is an easy to build kit, we build the majority of the kit all you need to do is plug the solar panels in and connect the battery leads.
(2 x 355w (710w) Solar Panel, Solar Cable, 30amp Solar Controller, Battery Leads, 2 x 220ah 12v Batteries making 24v)
The controller comes prewired, so all you need to do is connect the battery leads to the battery first then attach the Solar Cables to the Solar Panel. That is it.
The solar controller will test the panel for voltage, work out the best way to charge the battery, then it will start to charge the battery.
You can then connect your 24v low voltage appliances either directly to the controller (recommended) or to the battery direct.
Technical Info: As like all Lead Acid Batteries you can only use 50% of your amperage, so 2 x 220ah battery is only really a 110ah battery. 24v is flat 27.2v is full.
To work out how much potential energy you have stored for through the night you use this maths.
110ah x 24v = 2640w of usable power (don’t forget if you use all 2640w’s there will be no power for the morning, the battery will need to recharge)
Most customers use this for LED lighting and charging Mobile Phones
Quick Maths on using 6 LED Lights each 5w each so 30w total and 1 mobile phone 2.5amp at 5.2v = 13w.
Total usage Per Hour = 43w / 2640w Stored Power, so you could potentially leave the lights on and the phone for 61.39hrs until the battery is flat.
Normally you would only use the lights for 6 hours or so which would leave 55 hours of spare power left in the battery.
(which is enough for 9 days of lighting in bad weather)
